There has been much research to suggest that change, transformation and growth can emerge from the therapeutic relationship. I believe that the relationship fostered by the therapist and client is key to the therapy being considered a success or not. It is important for you to feel comfortable and safe enough in therapeutic environment for it to work for you.
My Practice model is based in a Humanistic and relational approach which believes that an individual’s way of being is constructed via our interactions with others. From very early on to the here and now. Those interactions shape how we see ourselves , others see us and how one expects to be responded to. Relational work looks at the impact others have on us and we have on the other. How we respond to situations and how it makes one feel. With the ultimate goal of holding a better sense of ones self and maintaining healthier relationships.
I am an Integrative practitioner which means I work with more than one modality of therapy. I find this useful as I believe we are all different and approaches need to be flexible enough to suit a particular individual.
My integrations are listed below
Attachment theory
Psychodynamic
Object Relations
Self Psychology
Existentialism
Trauma informed
Intersubjectivity
Person centred
